Our Journey: The History of Salsa Salsa Dance Studio
Since 2004, Salsa Salsa Dance Studio has been a part of Brooklyn’s vibrant dance community, offering expert instruction in New York-style Salsa On2 and other Latin dance styles. Instructor-performers Marcus and Jose opened the first Salsa Salsa studio in Bushwick with a mission to bring Salsa On2 back to its local roots and create a welcoming place where people could learn, connect, and share their love of dance.
Today, Salsa Salsa continues that mission from our Park Slope studio, welcoming students from Brooklyn and all five boroughs of New York City. Whether you’re stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, looking to sharpen your technique, or simply hoping to meet new people, our classes provide a fun, supportive, and friendly environment for dancers of all levels.
We offer a wide range of weekly classes, from beginner to advanced, along with regular socials, performances, workshops, and specialty classes in Salsa, Bachata, Cha-Cha-Cha, styling, and more. Our instructors focus on developing both skill and confidence while encouraging students to find and embrace their own individual style. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to dance with partners of different levels—from first-time dancers to experienced students, instructors, and performers.
Beyond our weekly classes and social events, Salsa Salsa has also had the opportunity to bring dance into the workplace and throughout the New York area. We have partnered with companies including Red Bull, Cushman & Wakefield, Sothebys, and more, providing engaging group dance lessons and interactive experiences for corporate events and employee programs.
We’re also proud to support and collaborate with local organizations and community initiatives, including the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and Vanderbilt Open Streets, helping bring music, movement, and dance into public spaces throughout Brooklyn.
At Salsa Salsa, we believe dance is about more than learning steps—it’s about building confidence, creating connections, and becoming part of a community. Our goal is to give every student the tools and encouragement to grow as a dancer while bringing that same energy and spirit to the social dance scene and events throughout New York City.
