Priscilla Cortes of Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican descent was born and raised in Brooklyn New York. Priscilla’s interest in Latin music and dance began as a young child. As a child Priscilla took Ballet, Tap, and Jazz for 3 years at Vicky’s Dance Studio. But nothing moved her more than the tropical sounds of salsa. Priscilla started taking salsa classes in 2011 at Viva Salsa under the instruction of Kona Luseni. She continued learning salsa and Cha Cha Cha at Salsa Salsa Dance Studio under the instruction of Jose Rivera and Marcus Gonzalez, where she also performed with the Salsa Salsa Dance Team. After 2 years of dancing salsa Priscilla joined and danced with Latin fever Dance Company and eventually Balmir Latin Dance Company by Eric Balmir. She has danced professionally for 8 years and has performed in various congresses in the United States as well as other countries such as Dominican Republic, Rome, Peru, Cuba, and Hawaii. Priscilla has returned to her roots at Salsa Salsa dance studio where she co instructs classes.
