Valeriya, originally from Ukraine, has been with Salsa Salsa Dance Studio since 2014. The first time she fell in love with Latin dancing she started out dancing Salsa on 1 and later on switched to Salsa on 2. Since then Valeriya has picked up other styles of dancing including but not limited to Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, Argentinian Tango, Hustle, East/West Coast Swing, as well as Standard Ballroom styles: Foxtrot, Waltz, and Rumba. And has trained with some of the best in the business. Valeriya has also traveled and competed in national as well as international Latin competitions and has placed first place in numerous divisions.
Through out the years Valeriya has taught at various venues which includes Brooklyn Law School as well as at community event at Plaza 33 in the heart of NYC. She has also made an appearance as a performer at the Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing.
When the world was tragically affected by COVID-19, she has organized a free ongoing outdoor salsa class in her community to bring dance and the arts to the public. Keeping the morale high and bodies active while maintaining a safe distance with all the precautionary measures.
Currently, Valerie is a Teaching Artist for the Dancing Classrooms program, teaching ballroom dance to kids throughout NYC public schools. Valeriya continues to be proactive in her community facilitating fitness and wellness classes through the five boroughs. She is available for group classes, workshops, private events, corporate outings, and weddings. Valeriya is also available for private lessons for a more focused one on one approach in timing, basics, ladies styling, body movement, gentle yoga flow or a quick Zumba workout. Her goal is to continue teaching, dancing, traveling the world and positively impacting the lives of others. Since the first day Valeriya walked into Salsa Salsa Studio it has felt like home. And she is grateful to be able to come back and be a part of a team of amazing instructors and Salsa Salsa Dance Studio.
